This is the last chance to walk through the tunnel and get a feel for what it is like,” said Tom Meagher, the NRA’s resident engineer on the project.Officially the Limerick Southern Ring Road Phase 2, the Limerick tunnel scheme includes almost nine kilometres of surface level dual carriageway linking the N7 Dublin Road, the N20 Cork Road in the area of Rossbrien, and the N18 Ennis Road near the Radisson and Two Mile Inn hotels.Speaking about the completion of the tunnel, IBEC Mid-West and Kerry Regional Director, Chris O’Donovan said: “The opening of the Limerick Tunnel marks the completion of the largest engineering project ever undertaken in the region, and the business community looks forward to improved access to Shannon Airport and reduced travel times along the west coast that the tunnel will provide. This weekend, the eighth-ranked women’s lacrosse team was victorious in a trip to Northern California, defeating Stanford 15-12 on Friday and UC Davis 18-9 on Sunday.Friday’s win was significant because it earned the Trojans the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MPSF tournament, which they will host at McAlister Field this week. USC looks to continue its winning streak after stretching it to eight games in a row and 18 straight conference games.USC’s commanding offense is highlighted by senior attackers Michaela Michael, Kylie Drexel and Gabby McMahon, who combined for 12 of the team’s 15 goals against Stanford. For Drexel, the game marked her career-high performance with five goals, four assists, three ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover. Michael recorded five goals of her own for the eighth time in her career. With the win, USC improved its record against Stanford to 5-3 all-time.On Sunday, the Trojans continued to demonstrate their offensive prowess against the Aggies, as three different Trojans — Michael, Drexel and senior midfielder Drew Jackson — scored hat tricks for the sixth time this season. Jackson’s triple came within a 28-second span, and Michael was dominant in the center circle, securing 10 draw controls.“It’s great that the older players are stepping up,” head coach Lindsey Munday said. “Hopefully, the young players can continue to look to them for guidance and continue to gain the confidence from them — and from us as a group — so that they can step up in these big moments as well, which they definitely are doing.”After the two wins, the Trojans locked in as the top seed at this week’s MPSF Tournament. With the regular season complete, Munday reiterated that there were always things to improve on.“We’re happy with two wins, but there’s definitely things that we need to improve upon before we enter the postseason,” Munday said.As defending MPSF champions, USC hopes to repeat this season and put itself in a position to secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.“We want to go out on top and make sure that we put ourselves in the best position to get an automatic berth,” Munday said. “It’s the only way that you know that you’re in, and that’s our focus right now. It has nothing to do with last year— it just has to do with being in control of our own destiny.”The first round of the MPSF Tournament kicks off on Thursday with a matchup between Stanford and Cal. USC is the No. 1 seed, earning the Trojans a first-round bye. They will begin their tournament in thesemifinal round on Friday, facing either Oregon or San Diego State at noon at McAlister Field.

But now the stores are back and the great news is that most of the same friendly and helpful staff are there too.The Donegal Town remains at the Glebe Shopping Centre while the Letterkenny Store will open at 5 Lower Main Street in what was the previous Gallagher Menswear shop. Both stores will re-open next Monday, May 20th and there will be a host of in-store opening offers to suit everyone.Once again Sprint will specialise in school books, stationery, educational supplies, ink cartridges, toys, games and of course, arts and crafts. A spokesman for Sprint said they are really looking forward to picking up where the previous owners left off and putting their own new touch to the business.“We have lots of new plans but we want people to know that the same staff will be here bringing their expertise over many years.“We are opening in times for people to get their school book lists sorted and put out of the way for the new school year in September.“And the good news is that we’ll have plenty of special offers when we open,” said the spokesperson.Sprint Educational Supplies to rise from the ashes with new store was last modified: May 17th, 2019 by Staff WriterShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Donegal TownletterkennyNewSprint Educational SuppliesStore
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has hailed Raheem Sterling for his attitude since breaking into the first team at Anfield. The 18-year-old from Harlesden is close to signing a new contract and despite speculation about his future has continually indicated that he wants to stay at the club. And Fowler told the Daily Mirror: “It’s so easy these days for kids to believe their own publicity.“But I watch Raheem and I can see he has respect for the team and for the senior players around him.“And his decision-making is good – he doesn’t just want to beat players and then shoot to get personal glory.“I think the manager has to take some credit in that development. He’s still a kid and got a long way to go – he needs to improve his final ball.“But Brendan Rodgers has already proved himself as a coach at the top level, and he’s in the right hands.”See also: Sterling set to sign new contractSterling should commit his future to Liverpool, says 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 Follow West London Sport on TwitterFind us on Facebook

The L.A. Times reports that during a meeting with analysts yesterday, Redbox President Mitch Lowe confirmed the company’s plans to expand beyond its movie rental kiosks. That would put Redbox head-to-head with Netflix, which recently announced it had surpassed 20 million subscribers and is also working on shifting its business from the disc shipping to the Internet-streaming business. Indeed, customers are increasingly turning to the Web to watch movies, rather than to DVDs. It’s been known for quite some time Redbox would eventually make this move into movie streaming, and its owner company Coinstar said as much last year. Redbox has been gauging its customers’ interest in a streaming plan, asking in a survey last year if they would be interested in a $3.95 per month subscription plan. That means that for those who rent four or more movies from Redbox a month (at its current $1 per film rate), that’s a good deal – and quite competitive with Netflix’s subscription plan.Despite Redbox’s confirmation that a streaming service is in the works, its partners in the endeavor have not been identified. According to the L.A. Times, “several people familiar with the matter have confirmed that Amazon.com is in talks with studios to acquire content for a Netflix-like subscription movie streaming service set to launch soon, making it a likely candidate to be Redbox’s partner.” Earlier this year, Amazon acquired the European rental and streaming service LoveFilm. Sudhir Kumar kept the Indian flag flying high at the Commonwealth Games as he lifted a total of 297kg to win bronze in the men’s 77kg weightlifting at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Thursday. Sudhir lifted 131kg in his first attempt at snatch but failed to lift 136kg in his second and third attempts. In clean and jerk, he lifted 161kg in the first attempt and 166kg in the second, but failed to lift 171kg in his final attempt, thereby ending up in the third spot. Sudhir said it was mixed day for him. “It was a good day as I won a medal but it was a bad day as far as my performance is concerned,” he said. Sudhir said his snatch round was ‘pathetic’ because if he had lifted a good weight, he would definitely have won gold. “I had no pressure to perform well but I had a back injury. I am happy that at least I won the medal.”Weightlifting coach Harnam Singh admitted Sudhir’s performance was not good. “This medal was really unexpected but we got it. Sudhir did not perform well but something is better than nothing,” he said. Yukio Peter of Nauru won gold with a combined total of 333kg after a snatch of 148kg and clean and jerk of 185kg. Australia’s Ben Turner bagged silver by lifting a total weight of 308kg.Nigerian Felix Cobham Ekpo matched Peter with 148kg in snatch, but the Nauruan beat the competition when he opened the clean and jerk with a lift of 185kg to set a new Commonwealth Games record. Turner, who won gold in the 69kg division in Melbourne, was at his best. He lifted 133kg in snatch and 175kg in clean and jerk. Nauru coach and the Commonwealth Weightlifting Federation secretary general Paul Coffa said it was not their best show.advertisement”He could have done better as he is in great form these days. Before coming to the Delhi Games, he had a minor injury and may be that is why he could not perform well,” Coffa said.
