Arsenal latest: Jack Wilshere ‘could be playing within four weeks’, says boss Wenger

first_img Jack Wilshere Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has today denied reports that Jack Wilshere has suffered another injury setback, claiming the midfeidler is on course for a return. The 24-year-old has not kicked a ball since August having suffered a hairline fracture to his left fibula at the end of the Gunners’ pre-season.Rumours emerged on Monday that he had suffered an ‘adverse reaction’ to his return to full training, and could now be out for the rest of the season, putting his chances of making England’s Euro 2016 squad in jeopardy. But Wenger has rubbished the claims and predicted his midfield maestro could be playing Premier League football within a month. The French coach revealed: “Wilshere has not suffered a setback – that is wrong information.“He is looking good and I have spoken to Roy Hodgson about him, to reassure him he’s progressing well.“I am cautious, but we can say he might be playing in four weeks.” 1last_img
