San-X is a different company from Sanrio, so let’s get that out of the way first. Rilakkuma is an important part of the stationery creator’s stable, a bear with a portmanteau of the words “relax” and “bear” in Japanese. The bear’s story is an intriguing one, as he randomly appears in an office lady’s apartment one day. He’s not really different from a regular bear other than a special zipper on his back. When you unzip him, you can see a light blue polka dot pattern. It’s not clear why that zipper is even there. It’ll be an absolutely adorable show, that’s for sure. We’ll have to wait a little while before we can comment on it, but there’s no doubt it won’t be lacking in cuteness. Just look at how cute its subject is.
