first_imgBURLINGTON, MA — James B. “Jim” Normoyle, a retired Accountant passed away from the long effects of early onset Dementia on Sunday morning, April 21, 2019. He was 64 years old. Jim had a successful career as an accountant working for Cambex Corporation in Waltham and Westborough. At the age of 54, he was diagnosed with early onset Dementia which brought an end to his career.Jim was born in Boston but grew up in Burlington. He was a 1972 graduate of Burlington High School. He loved the outdoors and playing almost any sport. He played intramural hockey in college and softball and basketball with his adults friends. He loved the outdoors and camping trips with his friends at Ricker Pond in Vermont. It became a much anticipated annual trip for his group of friends to catch up with each other and rediscover the joy of being there.Jim studied at several colleges before finding his career path. He attended Bishop’s University in Quebec, Canada. It was at the school’s dining hall that he would first meet his future wife, Marie Bernatchez. They both transferred to Carleton University in Ottawa to finish their degrees. Ottawa in the winter was pretty darn cold. But it had some perks. Like being able to skate the 7 miles of the canal system from school when heading home. Jim and Marie married in 1976 and eventually settled in Wilmington in 1981 to raise their 2 daughters.Jim and Marie shared a love of the outdoors and went on to buy a cabin in the woods of Limerick, Maine. It became his special place where he could enjoy the tranquility of hiking and canoeing around Lake Arrowhead. Jim would do anything for his daughters and was very proud of their achievements. He especially loved the quality time spent with his girls at the cabin in Maine, helping them appreciate nature in a simpler setting. He would have loved to be grandfather.Jim was the husband of Marie B. (Bernatchez) Normoyle. He was the proud and loving father of Aline Normoyle & her husband Shane Jensen of Philadelphia, PA and Catherine Normoyle & her husband Raymond Walker of Greenville, NC. He was the son of the late James and Ethel Normoyle. He was the brother of Elaine Bensenouci & her husband Driss of Burlington and son-in-law of Lucille & Louis Bernatchez of Canada.A visitation was held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Friday, April 26 from 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Malachy Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington on Saturday April 27 at 10 a.m. Services concluded with a interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.James B. “Jim” Normoyle(NOTE: The above obituary is from Edward V.
